At the Preserve on the Hudson, you overlook Fishkill Creek’s confluence with the Hudson River, Fishkill Town Park, Hudson Highlands State Park, Madam Brett Park, Fishkill Landing, the Fishkill Ridge Conservation Center and the Dennings Point walking trail.

Nearby Beacon Harbor offers a public launch for kayaks, canoes and motorboats and is part of The Hudson River Greenway Water Trail, which include Bannerman Castle and Constitution Marsh. The environmental group, Scenic Hudson, has undertaken several green projects within the immediate area. These include the reclamation of the Incline Railway at the base of Mount Beacon, in addition to Beacon Landing, which will redevelop the city’s waterfront with a blend of public open space and piers and a newly constructed convention center. Beacon’s Denning Point has been recently chosen to be the home of the newly created Rivers and Estuaries Center, which will establish a world-class research center for the study of the earth’s rivers and estuaries. Other nearby nature preserves include a two-mile walking trail along Fishkill Creek’s natural waterfront and marshes, as well as Scenic Hudson’s creation of Madam Brett Park where the Fishkill Creek meets the mighty Hudson.
